We had 3 runners at Pau on Monday. John Locke made a return to the flat on the all weather as the ground has gone for him over hurdles for the time being. We were lucky to be able to get the hugely experienced Ioritz Mendizabal on board and he made a satisfactory return finishing 5th in a competitive conditions race. He should sharpen up for the run and will be sure to pickup a similar event the near future.
We were represented by Lucky One and Garo de Juilley in the 100k Quinte hurdle who came 3rd and 7th respectively. Lucky One was stepping up in grade after winning a 2nd division earlier in the season at Auteuil and ran a very encouraging race, picked up good prizemoney and now heads back to Auteuil at the end of the month for a similar race. We were delighted with Garo who looked like he had lost his way last year. This was much more encouraging and he clearly acts well around Pau and we will hopefully find him another race there before 19th Feb when their season ends.
